Healthy Love and Dating as a Transgender Woman
A ten-week class / support group
for trans-feminine people,
open to English-speaking people worldwide
This offering draws with permission from the wisdom of the Conscious Girlfriend Academy and offers the safety and understanding of centering transgender experiences.
We welcome participants who are monogamous or non-monogamous, any sexual orientation, single or partnered. Whether you’re recently heart-broken, new to dating, in a serious relationship, or anywhere else on the journey of love, this space is for you!

Session 1:
Trans Trials and Tribulations
Dating while trans can be difficult! Let’s explore why. Participants are invited to get to know each other and to create safety for sharing.

Session 4:
Being (and Finding) a CATCH
Not everybody in the dating scene is available to navigate healthy love. Are you? Learn the skills to self-regulate emotions, and to find others who can too.

Session 7:
Sex T4❤️
Let’s celebrate our desires for intimacy and pleasure! And let’s talk about how scary it can be to name these desires and to seek what we want.

Session 2:
The Witnessing Self
Part of me longs to connect with other people. Another part of me wants to retreat. We all have various parts of ourselves, and in this class we’ll talk about seeing and accepting our layers.

Session 5:
SCORE Versus SCARED
Dive more deeply into skills to take responsibility for our role in relationship health! We can avoid sabotaging connection, but it takes self-awareness and practice.

Session 8:
Relationship Compatibility and Vision
How can we learn whether we're compatible with someone new? What would your ideal relationship look like? The more specific, the better.

Session 3:
Making Peace with the Past
Has your heart ever been broken? You’re not alone. Shedding light on past hurts can help us be more ready to move forward.

Session 6:
Straight (or Gayly Forward) Communication
Say what you mean with compassion. Trust others to do the same. In this session we’ll explore communication pitfalls such as passive aggression and people-pleasing - and how to overcome them.

Session 9:
Dating Methods and Magic
Co-creating healthy love/intimacy/sex takes more than magic. It takes skills, compassion, a dating plan… A little magic (intentionality, serendipity) might help too!

Session 10:
Healthy Love is a Human Right
Dating while trans can be difficult. Fostering healthy love is a worthy endeavor for anybody who chooses it, and it takes practice. In our closing class we’ll reflect together on our learning and our community.
Co-facilitated by Nicola Sian Frater and Renée Randazzo
Nicola Sian Frater (she/them) a white lesbian transwoman of Scottish, Welsh and English descent. Nicola is a member of the Conscious Girlfriend Academy and is beginning her new practice as a life coach with a focus on working with transgender people. Their undergraduate degree is in theology with a major in Spiritual Formation. In this she learned the inner disciplines which enable her to offer the gift of presence. Nicola later did a Graduate Diploma in Practical (pastoral) Theology with a CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Practical Theology of Disability and Mental Health. She was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD after retiring from a career as a Senior Aged Care Chaplain. Doing this work without accommodations for her Neuro-Divergence led to her early retirement. Nicola is also “transbian” (a transgender lesbian), and she retired and came out at Easter 2022.
"Ko Achilty te Maunga, ko Achonachie te Moana, ko Mooltan te Waka, ko McLay te Iwi, ko Nicola Sian ahau, I am Nicola Sian Frater (she/them). I am based in Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) in Aotearoa New Zealand. For 23 years I have been an Anglican Priest and for nine of those worked in Aged Care specializing in Dementia and Palliative Care. I grew up in a Pentecostal Pastor’s home, a very conservative environment for a trans girl. My parents were kind people yet they and our Church held beliefs about God, gender and sexuality that traumatized me. My autism also made me a bully magnet. So I have some understanding of religious trauma and trauma from physical violence. It took me until I was 54 for even the possibility of being trans to be a thinkable thought. It took another six years to make peace with being trans and another five to come out publicly. So I know how confusing and difficult this journey can be.
I would be privileged to companion you on your journey."

Both Renée and Nicola are Conscious Girlfriend Academy coaches-in-training.
